Step 1: Meet the Basic Requirements
You must be at least 18 years old, have a valid government-issued ID, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. You cannot have any felony convictions.
Step 2: Complete the Required Training
California requires 40 hours of training total — 8 hours of Power to Arrest training before you can apply, and 32 additional hours within 6 months of being hired.
